I had a choice of going into either Cobb's Marina or Bluewater Marina just a couple of miles to the north. I'd been told that Bluewater was better as it had access to stores and restaurants so I opted to motor there in the morning. I filled up on fuel and then moved to my dock and immediately set about seeing if I could locate the problems in my Victron, but didn't see anything evidently wrong with the circuit boards and no connections were corroded or loose, so I decided to order a new unit. There is a Victron distributor in Portsmouth and I contacted them to overnight a replacement. Since this was on the phone and I needed a non-standard 24VDC source and 230VAC target I had the part number and description confirmed 3 times and they added $150 overnight freight charge, which was OK by me.
I didn't do much work in the afternoon, but borrowed a bicycle to ride around a bit and then took their boat ferry to downtown Hampton in the afternoon and had a happy-hour drink at the local brewery, Bull Island Brewing before walking back to the boat for an early night.
My weather window for the passage had shifted for an optimal departure on the weekend, the Victron dealer would need to deliver on the next day, since if they missed that delivery time I would have to wait until Monday, as they were not open on weekends.
