Today marked Sandra's and Sascha's final day in the Caribbean and after breakfast at the local bakery they started packing up with bags in preparation for the flights. I used the internet to read my mail, update the blog and check into my accounts. It was fortunate that I did so, as my credit card showed two new transactions - one for over $3K for a hotel in Guangzhou and another for a Travelodge in the USA and since I was certain that I'd not done those I knew that my credit card had been stolen/hacked. Since I still had the card in my possession and had only used it once in the past month I knew where and when the details had been stolen and I shall certainly never be using the car rental agency across from the Indian River tour starting point in Dominica again.
A long call with the fraud department at my credit card provider resulted in my credit card being cancelled and there's a new card with a new number underway to the marina in Guadeloupe right now; but it will take a couple of days to arrive so I'm stuck here in the marina until it arrives. I'll also have to contact all of the merchants with automated payments to inform them of the new number - what a hassle!
Sandra and Sascha departed in the afternoon and I was once again solo aboard Zanshin. There are a number of tasks that have collected on my Post-It® board which I'll have to start working off, now that I have some spare time on hand!
