There was little to do today, but I got a ride to the bottom of the hill close by the finish line from Steve in his rental chariot. I walked the last couple of hundred feet up to the lookout point at the old Fort Charlotte above the Pillars of Hercules and watched some of the boats cross the finish line coming from Guadeloupe. In the past years there were just two people (Clare and Steve) doing all the work up there but this time the whole picnic table was full of people so the long waiting periods between the various boats passed quickly.

Mansion on the hill This mansion was only being bulldozed last year, and I gather it was finished so quickly because the owner imported all of the labour from off-island.
