Today marked the first real effort for the 2016 Heineken Regatta; Mark and I got a ride to Oyster Pond and we picked up an almost brand new catamaran for use as committee boat "B". The waves outside weren't too daunting and the channel was easy to exit. Once outside we didn't bother raising the main, but unfurled the jib and turned off the engines. Despite the small sail area, we did 4-6 knots the whole way back and it was a comfortable journey in that 40 foot cat. We picked up a mooring outside the Simpson Bay Lagoon bridge (we got it the first attempt, shows that we're an experienced team) and soon were back at the SMYC for a happy hour libation.
