It took us a while to get going in the morning and when we finally departed Île Fourchue heading for Gustavia we found that the anchorage was still quite full, but not overcrowded and we found a slot all the way in the back of the area. While it was going to be a very long dinghy ride into the port, we did get an excellent observation position for the regatta starts, which we watched for a while until the rolling around at anchor took it's toll and we headed into town. While Sascha and I completed the clearance (in)formalities at St. Barths the others walked the shopping street. Had the keyboard been in English rather than French we'd have finished a lot quicker, albeit the system at St. Barths remembers the boat particulars as well as crew details so I didn't have much more to do than remember the password and click my mouse, but Sascha had to type in all the particulars for his family.
After clearing in we walked up and around the hill to witness the fun approach and landing at the airport for a bit, then slowly made our way back to the boat. It seems that there was an accident on Selene, as we saw an ambulance stop at the apothecary, then two or three medics boarded a Capitainerie boat and zipped off, to return aboard Selene with a rather despondent looking crew. I certainly hope that nothing major has happened to that injured crew member.
After our stroll ashore we returned to the boat and motored to Anse Colombier to catch the same good inner mooring that we'd been on the day before. After the water activities we took a walk along the path from Colombier to the Anse Flamands road before heading back to the boat for a sun downer and subsequent dinner of Merguez sausages with baked potatoes.
