After a lazy morning with a bacon and eggs with bread breakfast I decided to make it another quiet day. I dinghied out to the start line of the Powerade Dinghy Regatta to get some pictures and when I returned I started the long-postponed task of adjusting the steering/power bar of the outboard and cleaning the engine along with adjusting the carburetor idle. There's a problem with the tiller arm and I downloaded the full shop manual from the internet, reading a section about the “trim tab” with great interest. I needed a lot of upper body force to keep the engine from making the dinghy turn a sharp right turn, I thought that was normal but it turns out that the sacrificial Zinc doubles as a trim tab which can be used to adjust the side forces on the tiller!
I opted to stay aboard tonight, cooking some potatoes with sauces for dinner and making an improvised and temporary dinghy lift as the sun set over the lagoon.
The yellow dinghy contained beverages for the racers, here they seem to be on an emergency Powerade delivery... (2015-03-29 10:10:40 NIKON D7100 with a "18.0-250.0 mm f/3.5-6.3" lens. [f/5.6, 1/800s] ISO 100)Powerade Dinghy Regatta - Delivery
