Gusty winds hit this morning and clouds are racing by overhead. I keep on opening and then closing the hatches due to occasional showers and am below decks much of the time. I did run the generator to recharge the batteries and used that excess energy to do the laundry, the dishes and even make the ugliest looking omelet ever made aboard this, or perhaps any, boat. It was tasty, though: semi-fresh mushrooms, chives, onions and some cheese. The gusts seem to be ebbing now, and no boats in the anchorage dragged. Only two more days before this system passes through and I get my 24-hour weather window to bash upwind to St. Martin.
The winds are at 25 knots, gusting to even more. At least with this wind and no more rain everything cools down below decks and I have no excuse not to clean up a bit. Armed with a bucket of water and dilute Pine-Sol and a cloth, I attacked the aft cabin and cleaned all of the surfaces, hopefully removing all traces of any mold spores that might still have been hanging around after Zanshin's time in storage on the hard. I had only seen one area with what looked like some sort of growth, and that was the backrest of my seat at the navigation station, and that got a special dose of Pine-Sol to make sure that it was temporarily antiseptic.
I thawed out two Chorizo sausages as well as some bread and grilled it all on the BBQ outside. I ate dinner in the cockpit, well illuminated by the bimini LEDs and was thankful that I was in the warmth of the Caribbean rather than the cold weather in Europe.

Temporary solar panel installation on deck The single solar panel on the foredeck of Zanshin, temporarily affixed while I get the two panels delivered and then installed.

Shirts hanging up for drying While the washing machine has a dryer, it requires a lot of energy and I had already filled my batteries sufficiently so I let them air-dry in the cabin rather than heat-dry in the washing machine.

Blowin 25 knots in the North Sound This was the median reading, gusts were higher. While not uncomfortable in the sheltered North Sound waters, I felt I should have let out more chain, but couldn't due to a close neighbor.
