The day after - which means that I spent a lot of time doing very little at all! I tried to get started with the pictures from the Antigua Sailing Week, but I'd taken around 2000 shots and all I could muster the energy for was a lot of pruning of similar shots and I did sort out the crew / volunteer related pictures and put that page up on the website so that the crew aboard could get a look at the selection as early as possible.
I walked around ashore a little bit to stretch my legs and both English and Falmouth harbours had begun emptying out. Back aboard I rested up and then went to the volunteer goodbye party at the Antigua Yacht Club in the evening. The new restaurant, Club Sushi had made some great sushi for us and although I was almost embarrased to ask, I did ask for some kyuri/kappa maki (cucumber rolls) since I don't eat fish and they were kind enough to oblige. Later on several of us had full dinner at the restaurant and I was surprised to see a varied non-sushi menu so we had gyoza, edamame, shumai and other items; it was all quite good and tasted very close to the real thing in Japan as well.
The Saturday night after race week is known as “Revenge Night” as the local Antiguans play extremely loud music all night long - and this year was no different. Although my anchorage position was very far away from shore, the music was still so loud aboard that the white noise of the fan had no chance against it and I debated using earplugs. Luckily, the music ended sometime between 4 and 5AM so I did get some quiet sleep.
