Today was another long day; I took care of delivering the super-special-and-impossible-to-get-oil for the VW Engine to a sistership at the docks at Nanny Cay (wonderful name, by the way); then checked out docks and finally paid one open bill to one of the dock contractors and then proceeded to Virgin Gorda in very light winds to clear out of the BVI. That procedure went very well and after visiting the future home of Lauren and Rob (the sailboat Southern Comfort) I subsequently sailed upwind to the North Sound in order to anchor off Leverick bay just in time to catch a couple of minutes of Michael Beans' show before the squalls hit and the show was postponed. I met up with Nick and Monika and Michael and met a number of new people at the Jumbies bar before retiring for the night.
Calm waters and almost no wind in the Sir Francis Drake channel meant I got to use the engine to motor dead upwind to Virgin Gorda from Nanny Cay in order to reach customs and immigration to clear out. [18°23'58.15"N 64°33'52.52"W (facing SW)]Calm waters in the Sir Francis Drake
The VW engine on the Jeanneau 57 needs a very special synthetic engine oil which is not available in the Caribbean, so I transported these spares and filters from Annapolis for a sistership docked at Nanny Cay. [18°23'53.83"N 64°38'9.87"W ]Oil delivery to Pregnanseas
This Jeanneau 57 was delivered a month before mine through the same dealer in Annapolis and is now docked at Nanny Cay in the BVI. [18°23'53.83"N 64°38'9.87"W ]Jeanneau 57 Pregnanseas

The big red boat is the leading one (but probably not competing) in this small race of monos and cats on this very light winded day in the BVI. (2012-01-04 18:22:43 NIKON D7000 with a "18.0-200.0 mm f/3.5-5.6" lens. [f/7.1, 1/200s] ISO 100 Focus ∞)BEYC Race week in the BVI
The boats sported a "BEYC Race Week" logo so I assume that they were all competing in this race, albeit some didn't have sails up but were keeping the same speed as the others on this very light winded day. Lauren and Rob have put up their old boat, Arita, for sale and have purchased this classic full-keeled boat which they are finishing up before heading back into the water. [18°26'48.9"N 64°26'15.43"W (facing E)]Southern Comfort in the yard
